Water Features
Features such as waterfalls, fountains and water slides are popular in many water parks, public spaces and leisure complexes throughout the world. Featuring low circulate water volumes, and often high use by bathers, water features can often cause a risk to public safety.
Atomized water can be created when fine spray/mist from a water feature combines with the air in the surrounding environment. If this water is contaminated and then inhaled, it is likely to cause severe illnesses such as Legionnaires Disease and Pneumonia. Approximately 18,000 people are reported to contract Legionnaires disease and Pneumonia this way each year in the United States. Based on published reports, the cases prove to be fatal in up to 30% of those who contract the disease.
Additionally, a number of water features such as fountains are now being used as occasional swimming pools by members of the public during hot summer periods. This has lead to a range of Cryptosporidium outbreaks due to lack of protection.
In order to combat this problem, Engineered Treatment Systems LLC has developed a number of high output and ultra compact systems, capable of fully meeting the biological demands associated with water feature applications.
