R&D / Validation

Engineered Treatment Sysytems LLC are committed to continuous innovation and product development. The technical aspects of the business are split in to two main sections Research and Development and Validations/Approvals. These topics are covered in more detail further down the page.

Validations / Approval Testing

ETS are committed to providing Ultraviolet disinfection systems that deliver the required amount of UV for a given application.  With this in mind along with the increasing pressure on facilities to assure sufficient treatment, ETS has invested in Bio Dose Testing on selected UV product ranges.  This enables ETS to offer "Validated" systems. The validation testing has been carried out in accordance with the United States Environmental Protection Agencies, Ultraviolet Disinfection Guidance Manual (UVDGM). The EPA method is one of the most modern and rigorous testing regimes in the world allowing for flexible operation of the Validated equipment.

Validation of an ETS UV System

In certain areas it is now compulsory to fit UV as part of the water treatment.  For instance in the states of  New York, California, Texas and Utah it is compulsory to fit UV on spray pad type aquatic features.  Several other states have either highly recommended requirements for using UV for supplemental disinfection or are in the process of adopting mandatory use for various pools. ETS  has worked closely with several Department of Health Agencies to ensure the testing requirements for validated systems meet  the necessary safety requirements of those agencies.  As a result ETS has supplied many Validated systems throughout the USA. ETS is also involved in assisting recognized regulators in our pool and leisure industry in adopting improved codes involving UV and water treatment.

Research and Development

At ETS, R&D is taken very seriously, we are continually looking for ways to improve our current product offering and investigate new ideas and processes in search of the more efficient and advanced fluid treatment systems.

ETS, along side UK sister company atg UV Technology are involved in many research and development projects both internally and in group research studies  looking at the use of UV for special applications or combining UV with other complimentary treatments to increase the efficiency of certain processes.
