Water Features
Features such as waterfalls, fountains and water slides are popular in many water parks, public spaces and leisure complexes throughout the world. Featuring low circulate water volumes, and often high use by bathers, water features can often cause a risk to public safety.
Atomized water can be created when fine spray/mist from a water feature combines with the air in the surrounding environment. If this water is contaminated and then inhaled, it is likely to cause severe illnesses such as Legionnaires Disease and Pneumonia. Approximately 18,000 people are reported to contract Legionnaires disease and Pneumonia this way each year in the United States. Based on published reports, the cases prove to be fatal in up to 30% of those who contract the disease.
Additionally, a number of water features such as fountains are now being used as occasional swimming pools by members of the public during hot summer periods. This has lead to a range of Cryptosporidium outbreaks due to lack of protection.
In order to combat this problem, Engineered Treatment Systems LLC has developed a number of high output and ultra compact systems, capable of fully meeting the biological demands associated with water feature applications.
The benefits of UV technology include:
- UV is effective against all micro-organisms
- Vastly improved water quality and a more pleasant bathing environment
- Cyrstal clear water, and fresh clean air
- Treats full recirculating flow
- No byproducts are created by the UV system
- Reduces the need for "Shock Treatments" to reduce compbined chlorin levels when using UV
- Fully automatic and cannot be over dosed
- UV is a non hazardous, green technology
The benefits of an ETS UV system include:
- Simple and easy to maintain
- Validated system performance
- ETS UV systems require little maintenance (twice per year)
- ETS UV systems are fully monitored to ensure the correct dose of UV
- ETS's leading SPECTRA control panel easily interface with existing management systems
- ETS has a vast range of products to suit different sizes and specifications
- ETS UV systems are ultra compact in design and require minimal space
- ETS UV systems are fully approved by UL/MET, ANSI/NSF50 and validated to the USEPA Disinfection Guidance Manual (NOV 2006)
